National Day for Truth & Reconciliation

Village of Telkwa Council and staff acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territory of the Gidim'ten Clan of the Witsuwit'en people.

September 30th is a day to recognize the ongoing trauma caused by residential schools, and to remember those who were lost, their families and survivors.

To commemorate this day, the Village of Telkwa is flying the flags in Flagpole Park at half-mast, and has replaced the "Telkwa" flag with the "Every Child Matters" flag.
