Garbage Collection Schedule Changes To accommodate the Christmas and New Year's holidays, Telkwa's garbage collection schedule will be adjusted as follows: Telkwa West Thursday, Dec 25  (Christmas) → Moved to Tuesday, Dec 23 Thursday, Jan 1 (New Year's Day) → Moved to Friday, Jan 2 Telkwa East: → No change Please mark your calendars and place your bins out accordingly! Thank you for your understanding, and happy holidays from the Village of Telkwa! *Please note regular curbside collection will resume as scheduled on Tuesday, January 6th.

Role of an Intervener Interveners participate actively, responsibly, and respectfully for the duration of a proceeding. They participate by submitting questions and submissions, taking part in oral hearings, and/or filing evidence on matters that are within the scope of the proceeding. Interveners must submit documents in accordance with a regulatory timetable and are not permitted to submit Letters of Comment. Secondary suites contribute to a variety of housing options in Telkwa. Secondary suites include attached and detached suites including a basement suite, granny flat, laneway house or carriage house in residential zones. Accessory dwelling units are also permitted in some commercial zones.    The Village of Telkwa is hosting a workshop for those wishing to explore the potential of adding a secondary suite. This workshop is designed to help you understand the regulations for secondary suites and what you need for your building permit application.

The Village is preparing its 2026 municipal budget, which guides how we invest in services, infrastructure, and community priorities.
