2026 Local General Election

General local elections in BC are held every four years on the third Saturday in October.  General local elections include elections for municipal councils, regional district electoral areas and boards of education.  Useful information and education materials about local elections are available on the BC Government website.

​Village of Telkwa Municipal Elections The Village of Telkwa Council is made up of one (1) Mayor and four (4) Councillors, who are elected for a four-year term.  Only Village of Telkwa residents and non-resident property owners are eligible to vote in the Village of Telkwa municipal election.
