We’re hosting an Open House on April 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Village Office in the Council Chambers to discuss the proposed biweekly garbage collection initiative.
Stop by anytime—spend about 30 minutes to review key information, including answers to the top questions from residents, and complete a quick 10-minute survey to share your thoughts.
Your input is essential as we consider this idea. We look forward to seeing you there and hearing what you think!
absolutely horrid! why would this even be an "option" when so many of us are saying no! we'll leave our trash at your doorway. not to mention if we miss a garbage day. being sick. doctors. travel. it'll be a months worth of garbage! of course helping members take a closer look at actual trash is a thing. but forcing us! not to mention every town has weekly garbage. this will lower town members. and raise outrage which you and fellow workers will have to deal with. i'm sure your employees will not be willing to deal with all the negativity. it may seem like a small town and in general many don't talk. but this is an actual issue…
I do not want bi weekly garbage pick up. I like it the way it is. That will force some of us to go to the bump, and frankly why would or do pay insane property taxes if we still have to go to the dump regardless. Will you be offering us tax payers something in Lo of this, personnel savings. Telkwa is a great community to live in, but please leave us with this one thing. There’s not much else.
